Several asked to see the gun with the repaired grips installed. Here are a couple pics. They fit like a dream (thanks pb) and will only be installed for pics. He gave me a set of magnas to use for "everyday wear".
A couple folks have asked about seeing if the dentist I used to repair the MOP would tell what he used or do more work...I have not been able to speak to him about it yet, but I did buy he and his staff lunch last week as he would not let me pay him for the work.

Oh my Gawd, porn on a legitimate gun thread!
OK, back to the grips. If you notice, the grips are just a bit shy on the corners. Thats a good thing, because many of the originals were purposely fitted a tad small. It tends to have the frame be the first thing impacted when it hits something. The result is maybe some minor dig to the hard metal, but it saves the fragile and shatter prone pearl.
Yes, the dentist did a good job. Its a happy break for them and their normal pain inducing work ( ) Waiting......waiting....... OK, where's Bettis?

Glad you like the pics. I appreciate (most) the comments!
I did letter the gun. It was pretty uneventful.

Bob, and others
There was a thread very recently, discussing pinned front sights on these early
K-frames.
Given the nickel plated barrel, there is no way that those pins (holding the front sight)
could be polished flush to the barrel. If they were, then the front sight assembly would have
been plated, along with the barrel.
So - the front sight assembly was pinned after the barrel was plated, resulting in the
pins having their full rounded-over ends.
This is not exactly rocket science, but its one of the reasons why we see some guns with
flush sight pins, and others with non-flush pins.
Regards, Mike Priwer
