I just won this one at a proxibid live auction today. I'm pretty sure it's a pre-19. Listed SN is K 393504. It's definitly a 4-screw, but I don't know if it's model marked or not. Anyone know approx production date? I'm at work tonight and don't have access to SCSW or any other docs. Any additional info will be greatly appreciated. They listed it as 95%, but it looks good in the pics. Selling price before shipping and buyer's premium was $400! How'd I do?

That serial would appear to be from 1960. Likely marked Model 19 or maybe 19-1 depending on exactly when it was made.
Very easily worth $400 in today's market.

Chris
I agree with SP - its probably a Model 19. K344XXX was my earliest model 19, and
K466XXX was a 19-1 .

K318849 is marked as a Model 19. Given that I would say this is marked as a Model 19. UNLESS you got real luck and it's a 19-1.
With specimins of 19-4s and 19-5 going for a bunch more you did just fine.

I agree on the Model 19 (no dash part). You bought a phenomenal gun.

Thanks for all the great comments. It will make a nice companion to my identically configured 66-no dash birth year gun.
Only drawback is that it sounds like it's one year too young to qualify as a C&R. I'll have to have it shipped to an FFL for transfer. Oh, well. Still worth it. A guy here at work will transfer it for $10 plus another $10 to the state for the background check. (which I can totally understand if it's your FIRST EVER handgun purchase, but when you've got a safe full, what good is it besides a waste of time and a $10 'tax'?)

K3444xx is a 19 no-dash shipped in May of 1959.
The blue finish on these late '50's - early '60's guns is, generally, very deep, and far surpasses the finish on more recent revolvers. At $400, I think you did just fine.

I have several 19 (no dash) guns that range from SN K3910XX to K4224XX. The 19-1's that I have are in the K46XXXX range. The pre 19's that I have are in the K2600XX to K3180XX range.
The lumber on that revolver is very nice. Congrats on a beauty that I would be pleased to have in my collection.

cgt4570,
Congrats on the 19. I was at the auction and looked your pistol over pretty hard. It is a 19-0, and the timing lock-up and such were spot on.
I think you did well.
