I came across this clipping of an advert for Australian-surplus Victory Models from the Sept. 10, 1989, issue of Shotgun News:

If I'd only known then what I know now!

Steve,

Nice find! I knew these Victory's were sold through importers.. but had never seen an ad like that.

For a minute there, after reading your thread title, I thought you found one for $80 !

I am just glad you did not post the advertisements for $169.99 Lugers the same company ran in 1985. What were the Brazilian 1917s, $124 if I remember correctly.

Steve, An interesting side note to these Victory Models from Australia : I bought several at the time from various importers and sent for factory letters. The letters came back saying the guns were shipped to Austria!!! A typo on Roy Jinks computer, of course. I recently sent Charlie Flick a copy of one of these letters, plus some other ads of early Victory models when they were going for $14.95 at Monkey Wards in the 50s. Ed.

I remember those ads and ones similar to it. They also had Colt 38's that various countries had used for police, military, etc. Should have bought a sack full of them.
