I promised myself no more project guns, but I found a 3rd model Ladysmith in need and couldn't help but bid on her. I came across a barrel for it a few days later and now I only need some grips and I'll be set. I posted a WTB in the classifieds but I thought I'd ask here too since some don't bother with the ads. I need to find a set of square butt grips to fit her. Anyone out there that can help? Best Regards, Chef

Chef,
I know of a Ladysmith collector up around Sevierville, TN who sets up at some of the E TN shows. He's got more than a few of them, and maybe he has some spare grips. I bought my LS 3rd model from him last year. I'll try to find his info when I get home. He's not a dealer, but he sets up at an occasional show with a few trader guns mainly for the opportunity to buy.

3rd Model Ladysmiths were shipped with three styles of stocks by the factory - Smooth walnut, Ivory and pearl. All with Medallions. Distributors sometimes added after market pearl or ivory stocks, w/o medallions. A factory letter will tell what style was on your gun when shipped, so you can obtain the correct style for your gun. None of the three styles, if in good condition, will be cheap if the owner knows what he/she has -minty walnuts will bring a couple hundred $s - the others $500 to $1,000 depending on condition.

Thank you both for the info, Chris, if you find the guy please let me know, it seems that SB grips for the Ladysmith are scarcer than hen's teeth. opoefc, I appreciate the input, I knew the grip styles that were available at the time, I didn't know that they all had medallions, do you know if they were gold or silver with the 3rd model? Thanks again and if you spot a set of SB grips I'd appreciate a shout!
Best Regards, Chef
