I have this one coming, I saw it on GA and thought to myself it would be neat to have, i am guessing all the work was done after the fact but it still should be neat to fire. and have around.

You guessed right - the barrel was shortened after the fact ! Maybe at the same
time those PC grips were put on the gun.

I know, but its as close to an original that I will ever see, and I think in might be fun to shoot. I will look for some wartime grips for it as soon as it is in my hot little hands.

Stan, should be fun to shoot. Hope you reload as 38 SW ammo is quite expensive. Could you tell us what the mark is on the frame where the barrel goes through? Give us a range report when you give it a go. John

I will, I have stocked up on 38S&W lately as I have purchased quite a few in that caliber. I just ordered some 150 grainers from ten x and I have 146 and 145 grains already and some 160s to try out.
It looks like it will fun to touch off.

Interesting looking little snubbie..!
Just curious as to the serial number range... looks like it's a blued gun and not parkerized.

It has been re-blued according to the guy I ma buying it from. I am not sure yet if it started out blue or Parked, it still has some of the British proof marks according to him. I will post the Serial assoon asi getit and figure out the DOB.

I like it Stan! It suggests a sense of utility that I appreciate. I'll look forward to your range report.

Ok, I picked it up yesterday, it has a large capital P just behind the barrelon the right hand side also one on the front grip strap just above the screw and one on the butt by the serial number776338
Under the grips on the right hand side near the botom front is a small capital B abd near the top of the grip frame on the same side is a letter z
The barrell itself looks professionally cut, and has the front sight soldered on. The barrell has been re-crowned .
The info I received from the seller is that the Brits cut it down in the 50's for police issue, you can still see the crossed arrows barely on one side and a crown on the other.
What ever the story it is a neat gun, that i will enjoy shooting.
The only thing I did was to swap out the grips for smooth military ones
