I just watched the most sicking act ever.Since I moved from Kentucky to Columbus,Ohio, it seems like ever city mayor in this state wants their pic took destroying guns. These guns are either buy back or seized.Mayor Butthead ,excuse Coleman in Columbus.Today on ONN saw mayor of Cleveland destroying guns by melting them down.On top of pile was a beautiful 1905 Hand ejector what a loss for history and gun owners in general.

I lived in Ohio for four years and I didn't understand how the state could have so many hunters and shooters yet every big city was lead by anti-gun pols and had terrible gun laws.

SP,
Ohio's legislature has long been 'ruled' by an alliance of southern Ohio insurance interests and big-city mayors.
Columbus and Cleveland are both out of control...Columbus' mayor is an anti-gun, pro-yuppie, moron...Panders to the whiners on the left.
Jackson in Cleveland is a knee-jerk liberal who believes ALL guns are BAD!
Our state has had the revenue-enhancing melt-down going on for years...The fools think that paying somebody to turn in grandpa's M 1905 and then destroying it will eliminate gun crimes.
Cleveland is (like DC) on track to establish a new high in murders this year.
I am reminded of the definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results.

Hi, guys....
Can I tell you...I am a cop in NC and all the guns I seize when it comes to court I usually recommend that it be turned over to the Sheriff for sale at public auction...Most are pieces of **** but The judge everynow and then asks me why I want the gun sold instead of destroyed...I had the pleasure 2 years ago to tell the judge: " your honor, This guns that you want to destroy are a Colt 1911 made in 1941 and a 1902 colt .38rimless these guns are a piece of American history. Infact, the company that produced these weapons does not even produce guns for the civilian market anymore. this makes these guns a historic artifact." The judge looked at me and ordered that the guns be sold at auction.. Triumph for the gun advocates. Plus we get to keep the money for our agency to be used for our equipment...So everyone wins .....

... well, at least he didn't refinish it ...
(ducking) - J.
PS - Wayne Anthony Ross, Chairman of NRA Gun Collectors Committee, successfully brought suit against a governmental unit (Anchorage? Alaska?) to stop the destruction of seized firearms a few years back

We have made progress in this state, and I believe will continue to do so. The big city mayors and Bob Shaft got spanked last year with the overide of the veto on HB347, improving our concealed carry law and preempting local gun laws; Cleveland's, Cincinnati's and the Columbus AW bans were made null. If someone in 1997 would of told me in 10 years Ohio would have concealed carry and a statewide preemption law I would of thought they were daff. At the state level, at least, the politicans take note of us now, and realize enough of us vote as a bloc to matter.

Actually - this act brings new meaning to the word "refinish"... Or maybe more appropriately just "finish" without the "re"....
What a sad day.

I am the Evidence Officer for my department. For years the only option we had was to cut them up. We didn't and they just piled up. The State changed the law this year. We just traded a pickup load for new AR-15's. It pays to be patient.

I love it, another argument for procrastination.
I like the refinishing joke too.
