Does anybody else have the problem I have? I see a set of grips/stocks with lots of character and I just cant pass them up. Even if I have to buy the gun to get the grips. Well last weekend I had to buy this old Brazilian to get the Ivory grips it was wearing. I have a real addiction/fetish for Ivory in the first place but when they have age lines like I do I gotta have them. I just know I will find a gun for them in the future.
I have more Grips than I do guns and I cant seem to stop.

WOW, Dan. Good move. I'd have bought a dump truck if those grips were in the dash!

Well, hell yes!
I have bought revolvers more than a time or two for the grips, particularly pre war grips found on post war revolvers, carved pearl, jigged bone, stag and definitely ivory. I think more than a few of us can make that confession!
Accessorizing with grips has been a time honored tradition. You don't have to make any permanent modification to an otherwise collectible or original piece and at the same time it affords one the opportunity to personalize the revolver to reflect your individual taste. This is perhaps best illustrated by the large numbers of aftermarket grips that have been available for revolvers and in the case of autos like the 1911's, for so very, very long. I have, like many of our fellows, frequently found pre-war revolvers with post war grips and have either replaced them with correct period factory grips or well aged ivory, stag or pearl grips as I mentioned earlier. For me at least, I think it's fun and another way to get a "fix" while you're waiting for the next prize to find you.

You guys need to get a grip. Sorry, bad joke. I have no room to speak. I could start a pretty good fire with all the wood I have.

Lefty there is one holster I don't have in my collection and that one by that classic company, Bell Charter Oak. One of these days I am going to get you to make me a NY reload for a pair of Js in tan color. The products you make and EPS's stuff are closer to the golden age of holsters than any other moder makers.

Wow, those are some nice looking grips and holsters. I have a collection of excess too, but mine is from looking for the ultimate in feel not just looks. But I do know how it is to have an obsession just the same.

Thanks Guys,
Chris - I dont think your gun was in that picture. I did have stag grips on it at one point for a display I did in a Washington Arms Collectors show. It certanly is worthy of dressing up, thats for sure.
The Grips I keep looking for is a Wolf and Klar style Steerhead Ivory for a N-Frame. One of these days they will show up.
