So....what would a Outdoorsman like this be worth? I'm gonna sell in a couple of days rather than refinish. I just want a shooter and I have found a model 28 .357 at a reasonable price. I don't want to mess up a collector gun by refinishing...and several here have said this is worth more "as is"...so what's it worth?? I'll post this in the classified section Friday May 9 at 10 pm Eastern with my asking price. Thanks...Miles in WV
Thanks

Win,
If you can arrange it, shoot both guns with your preferred loads and go with the more accurate revolver. That is, unless you need the extra speed of the .357. That old Outdoorsman may surprise you!

I'd say it's worth at least $600 as is, as long as it's mechanically tight. I wouldn't refinish it either, someone will enjoy it as is.

Although your Outdoorsman is in nice original condition it is not really a "collector grade" gun. Consider keeping it, leave the gun in its original condition, and enjoy the shooting fun ! These revolvers can be extremely accurate and will handle very stiff loads all day long.
I own a couple myself !

Jerry,
If this was the only 'toy' to chose from, it wouldn't be killing me at all. He has 8 or 9 other oldie goldies I would love to take home. Final 'out the door' price today was $344 which included the tax and the background check phone call.

I can promise you that if you sell your Outdoorsman you will come to regret it. Take my word for it. I know it's reduntant, so are the six 28s in my safe.
Unless that 28 is a mechanical disaster area you did quite well at $344.00. Quite well.

Keep the Outdoorsman. If you reload you will have the performance of that M28 in your Outdoorsman.
If you don't reload, keep the Outdoorsman. Save your money and look for another .357 they will show up.
