I just picked this up from Forum Member vl5150. He was really easy to deal with. It is about a 1951 or 1952.
I put the Stags on it. Patrick Grashorn made them, and he does great work.

'51 is my birth year, too. Boy that baby looks a lot better than I do after 56 years.

Thank you everyone...as Doc44/Bill has stated before, and I agree, the 5" is my favorite. They are so well balanced.
I might put the stag on my 3.5" 27, but for for now, I like them on the 5".

I got one the other day, as new, $480 out the door...But it's a 3-screw circa 75. Bought it for myself though. Javalinas, coyotes, jack raggits, etc.
Well balanced barrel length. I have a 3.5, 6.5, 4, 2.5 19, another 4 SS 66...But the 27-2 in 5 inch is the Caddie of .357s to me. I cannot see why everyone gets excited about Pythons, when this revolver's market value is about half. Keith and McGivern were correct in their assessment of S&Ws. You can tune these to a glass action, and shoot circles around anything!
Cheers

You are all too kind...
They really were the top of the line .357 I have a couple of older Pythons, 4 and 5 digit SN guns, but the 27 just feels better.
The action is so crisp and clean.
Again, I am undecided if I am going to use:
1) stock Diamond Magnas
2) Cokes
3) stags
For now, I like the stags. I really prefer 27s with magna-style more so than target stocks.
Again, thank you for the praise and kind words. I was really shocked to see how clean it was when I first saw it.
