I recently purchased a beautiful hand ejector, blued with a 2" barrel for $100.00. It came with a red S&W box with tools. The directions are printed inside the box lid in English and Spanish. The serial number is 573---. I have not been able to find another one to compare it against so I dont know really how much it is worth. Any thoughts on this piece would be appreciated.

It would help a bunch if you could post a PIC of it and the box. Are you sure that there is 6 numbers in the S/N?

6 digit serial number - just double checked. I will try to post a pic in the next couple of days. I believe it is an I frame - pre model 30.

Does it look like this (other than the grips)?

This is a Postwar, 32 H E (Pre-30). It is an Improved I Frame, and original grips are real difficult to find. I modified some walnut boot grips, and they work well. My S/N is 6000XX and was shipped Jan. 1953.

It has a 2" barrel. Basically it looks like a shrunk j frame.
