This Lend-Lease K-200 British Service .38/200 was delivered in January of 1945 - serial
#V745416 . It was later one of the "Victory" guns converted by Cogswell & Harrison of London to .38 S&W Special and returned to the "Colonies" for resale.

I'm curious on their conversion. I have heard they did one of the better conversions. How did they do it? Just boring the chambers deeper will cause case bulging problems. Did they drill it out then reline the chambers with the correct dimension sleeve's?

Would that late of a gun not have been originally shipped with the Black Magic finish and smooth stocks? Did C&H refinish them and do the stocks number to the gun?
Thanks

I have one that was changed to 38 special by the British and it was drilled out over size and sleeved to the right size. But they cut the barrel off to 2".I was lucky and found a new 4" blue barrel on e-bay and replaced the barrel.Shoots like a dream. But the gun was not marked as to who did the work like yours is.Have fun with it. papabyrd

There is a "poor" attempt at removing a sandblasted type of finish on the gun. Some evidence remains ex: where the barrel meets the frame. Also notice the wear on the S&W logo rigth side...amd the pitting along the top-strap.
There does not appear to be any sleeves installed in the chambers.
I'm waiting for more information on the C&H Conversions and will let you know more when received...
Thanks for the questions...

At one time in the early Sixties C&H was owned by Sam Cummings of Interarms and duly joined in his surplus conversion activities.
