My 4 screw collection began with a K-22 bought at a gun shop years ago. As so often happens with us (collectors) I didn't know just what I had until recently. I only knew that I liked it.
I just found this 5in. K-38 on gone broker and knew by the SN. it was a non model marked 4 screw, I bid accordingly.
Here are my K frame 4 screws, K-22 S# K3251xx ,and , K-38 ,S# K3028xx respectively.
The stocks on the 22 I just found at a local show for all of $30, woo hoo.
Now for the Real Deal, the n.m.m. Highway Patrolman s.
The 4" was a g.b. auction where I got lucky, after e-mailing the seller,I learned it had nothing on the frame cutout
I held my breath for a week until the auction finished and then was pleased to find out it came with the
original box Stocks were purchased later at a show, 3 sets of N diamond magnas for $300. Another great day.
The S# is S1822xx, possibly one of the last n.m.m. N frames.
This 6" with original diamond targets was turned in to a shop in Pinellas Park Fl. by the original owner who
remembers purchasing it in 1957, 50 years ago.
The gone broker auction on this one was driven by a bidder who mistakenly believed the stocks were 'cokes'
the seller didn't help either when they posted on the auction site that they were.
After E-mails and phone conversations, the b.s. settled but the damage was done.
This one cost me $770 in hand, but boy is she beautiful. S1762xx ,n.m.m. 4 screw,,
I know Giz ,and Drew , and DW fan have a couple of these hanging around, Anybody Else?
With pictures and Serial numbers too please
God bless you all and happy new year , ,,,Al

Great collection! Every time you post, I think - "we have similar tastes in guns, grips, etc... we've got to get together!" Although our tastes are similar, our collecting paths have been different enough that together we could put together one great collection!
I especially love the 4" pre-28 4-screw! I still need one of those to complete a part of my 4" Highway Patrolman accumulation.
I have a couple non-model marked 4-screw revolvers (the shorter versions of your K-22 and K-38). These are in addition to the pre-19 that I recently posted on another thread.
4-screw K-38 Combat Masterpiece (pre-15)
4-screw K-22 Combat Masterpiece (pre-18)
Thanks for sharing your great collection...

Allen-Frame,
while they aren't cokes they are a very nice set of non-relived diamond targets!!
I know those are worth a few $$. You and Giz have the market cornered!
I only have my one measly 5 screw first year HP. (see avatar)

Just (2) non-model marked 4-screws here. Both are scarce barrel lengths for their vintages.
5 inch K38 4 screw circa 1957
8-3/8" K22 4 screw circa 1958

Allen, yes, it is close to the Ill. State Police range.
It is not on a list published by the SWCA, but is within 1 gun of some that are on that list, so it probably belongs on it?
Ser.# is K 3034xx

Bumping this old thread back up, especially since I have something to add to it.
Picked this up earlier this year. Grips are beat up, especially the right one, but I sure love this n.m.m. 4 screw K-22.
Serial # K2766XX
In fact the wife and I are going out later this morning (after it warms up) with her Dad to do some shooting and this is going with us. She hasn't shot it yet and I know she is going to like it.

A 5" K38? I am going to have to hate Allen-frame for that. I am planning to snag a K38 some day, and a 5" has a certain illogical appeal.

I have only one 4 screw, a 1962 (birth year gun for me) Model 10. Got ir from a Fine Gentleman who is a board member here. It came with an excellent floral cut holster and a Tyler-T.
It now wears a set of period correct Diamond Magnas.

Well I do have this 1899 M&P 1st Model.

But it is a "Pre 5 screw" 4 Screw.
Then there is the 38 M&P 2",
And, a 4" Mod. 10 no dash.
Have a soft place in my head, (mean heart) for 4 screws.

What's a seven year old thread amongst friends??
I too have a pre 5 screw 4 screw, but then he didn't specify, he just said non model marked 4 screw K frame, and since these are the grand dad of the M&P's, why not? In this case all four screws are in the sideplate!

1st Model of 1899 about 1901 production

My nmm 4 screw HP has been circumcised but who ever did it, did a pretty good job, bottom right. The barrel markings are about an inch off center toward the muzzle end. The crown is great as is the front sight,,, just that pesky off center thing. The gun doesn't mind(shoots great) so why should I.

Okay. I'm going to be ornery. Here is a K frame "four screw" revolver.
Go ahead. Dispute this!
Ooops! I see Ken beat me to this. I'm leaving mine up anyway. My 1902 Target model can keep his 1899 company.
