From SCSW3, 1957. The early J frame serials for '57 are 117770 to 125000.

I'll make a deal with you, send me the gun for a small postage fee and I'll give you the photo posting secret......sorry, I'm not that big of an A-hole! Go to the FIND tab and search on "how to post pics", there are MANY instructions. Here's the fee though, once you figure it out, let us see a picture of your beauty! If you have issues, send me an off-line e-mail and I'll guide you in.

Mulehide9...If you've have them on your PC, you need to upload them to a free hosting site. I like http://www.villagephotos.com/
Then in the reply window, click the top button with image URL drop down (right side in green).
Copy the URL and paste in the box.

Hope this helps.

Here is the thread on mine. Very close to your's.

Enjoy it, it is a fine revolver that has served its purpose for more then 50 years and should easily do so for another fifty.

If that is a 1955 Chief's special, then when were the "baby" chief's specials made? I have one of the babys, but with the ramp front site like on the 1955 one pictured above. The trigger guard is much smaller, more of a rounded shape, and the grips are shorter at the bottom. What are the years of this variation I describe? Thank you.
