I have been looking at a British Victory model that some where along the line has been metalifed, I have had this done to other guns in th past.
I am really thinking about buying this one to play with

I realize that it has no collector value, from the looks of it the all the marks have been covered except the S&W trademark and stuff, but I made the guy an offer today.
I will use it to shoot and have fun with, I will let everyone know how it turns out.

Stan,
This is SSK Industries correct? What do they charge these days.... I have a rough and tumble Model 36 that I was considering this for.... it's pretty far gone in the finish department now as it is...

I had one done 3 years ago for $225.00, it was a 25-2 that someone left in their car for a few weeks in a wet rug. took about 5 weeks to get back.

I picked it up yesterday and I found almost all the markings buffed out, just the trademark, and barrel markings were left. It locks up tight and is pretty clean. I had 2 pair of smooth military grips so I put one set on this gun and the other on the 2 inch Brit gun.

You just can't go wrong with an S&W. If Metallife is akin to hard chrome, that would be a plus on a using gun. Hard chrome makes the steel harder, corrosion resitant and more slick. I think you have a winner.
