I posted this in the Lounge first, but thought I might get more info here!
Are the .32cal Colt Officers Model Targets as rare as the K-32's ???? There is a beautiful 1940 vintage .32cal OMT on Auction Arms now (item # 8952956). I'm just curious how rare this old Colt is???

Good response to your question over on the Colt Forum. Also, up in the lounge.
Short version is 850 or so in '39 and '40 for the Massachussetts National Guard seems to be total production. This contrasts with only 94 pre-war K-32s total. (Thanks, Bud/Lonewolf.)

I've got one of these new in the box and can tell you that they are as rare as the K-32s and the workman ship is as good or better than the pre war S&Ws.
I don't know what the price is on it but they have been going up in value. Paid $1,100 for mine several years ago.

moosedog, the one listed on Auction Arms appears to be virtually NIB....it is a real beauty.

I don't doubt the workmanship is every bit as good as the pre-war K-32s, but why would you think they are as rare?

I didn't mean that they were as rare as the pre war K-32s, which are a different run from the post wars. The Colt OM Target in 32 are less in number than the over all number of K-32s produced.
Maybe I should have made it more clear.
