I'm really not sure what this is, but I believe it to be a .45 Hand Ejector Model of 1950. It appears all original and unfired. How desirable are these, how hard are they to find, and what might the market value be? Barrel is marked "45 CAL MOLEL 1950". Serial number is "S901XX"

I saw an all matching (including grips) one in like new without box condition sit in the classifieds unsold for $2000. That price is not out of the ballpark, but it would be expected from "top dollar dealers". I won an all matching (except grips) one (S88xxx) in 90% condition on GunBroker for $500-$600. They aren't seen very often, although it seems people have a deeper fascination with the .44 Special version. I hope that helps. If you come up with a price, please let me know.

Here is a picture of my four screw Model 22 (S192xxx):

You don't see them every day, that is for sure. However, as has been said, they don't command the attention that the .44 Special 1950 Military gets. The last gun show had one for $900 missing the original grips and one for around $1800 with box and papers. The first one sold. The second one didn't and if I am not mistaken, it has been listed here before. While that is a $900 range between the two, I'd say it brackets the market value of your gun well.

The SCSW lists excellent as $1000 and ANIB as $1800. Again, your gun would fall between the two.

I believe the difference in interest, and prices, between the .45 and .44 militaries of 1950 is the number made. With only 1200 of the .44's made there aren't that many still around. Relatively rare gun IMHO.

You are forgetting about the

Model of 1950 .45 Army in .45 Colt

There are even less of those around than .44 Specials.

Wish I had my camera back.

(I'm waiting until after Christmas or January to buy a good camera...waiting for a sale. )
