These two guns are from about 1949. The one with the higher front sight is the K-32, in the K60,000 serial
number range. The one with the lower front sight is a K-22, that is an X serial number . It was owned by
Harold Sibley, the Chief Engineer at S&W. The letter indicates that it was perhaps a model that they
intended to produce, but never did. Its almost exactly like the usual 6" K-22, of the period, but in 4".
It appears that Mr Sibley was experimenting with the hammer stud. On this gun, the hammer stud floats in the
frame, as oppossed to being screwed in. When you take out the hammer, the stud usually comes out with it !
