You do not "need" clips for ACP in a S&W, the case headspaces on the case mouth shoulder in the chambers.
You will need moon clips to shoot 45 ACP in your 45 Colt cyl, but you'll also have to have a groove turned in the cyl rear face to use clips. The 45 Colt chambered Mod 25s are not numerous so if it were mine, I'd get a spare cyl to shoot ACP.
First determine if it's a Mod 25-5 which has the long 1.67" cyl or Mod 25-3,-4 with short 45 Colt cyl. If it's the long one, it's even less numerous plus you won't find an ACP cyl long enough to reach the barrel.
