Default Moon clips needed?

So I'm waiting for delivery of my recently purchased Model 25 in 45 Colt. On the 45ACP Model 25's you need moon clips because the case is rimless. 45 colt is a rimmed cartridge. Do they modify the cylinder to need moon clips on the 45 colt ones to be consistent for the model or will I not need them.

You will not need moon clips for a 45 Colt as it has a rimmed case

You do not "need" clips for ACP in a S&W, the case headspaces on the case mouth shoulder in the chambers.

You will need moon clips to shoot 45 ACP in your 45 Colt cyl, but you'll also have to have a groove turned in the cyl rear face to use clips. The 45 Colt chambered Mod 25s are not numerous so if it were mine, I'd get a spare cyl to shoot ACP.

First determine if it's a Mod 25-5 which has the long 1.67" cyl or Mod 25-3,-4 with short 45 Colt cyl. If it's the long one, it's even less numerous plus you won't find an ACP cyl long enough to reach the barrel.
