Default The 44 Associates

I am trying to research the group known as The 44 Associates, and would like to hear from anyone who has any information on this organization.

I know they published a newsletter and a forum member shows a load data sheet in a thread on the .44 Special. I am interested in anything pertaining to The 44 Associates you would be willing to share.

Thank You,

What Cheer

Yes, What Cheer, I concur that the history of the organization and their load data are important and relevant. We had a thread this spring to which many contributed, but the actual 44 Associates' booklet eluded us for scanning and dissemination.

Let us hope that a second effort will be successful!

Nearby, in S&W Revolvers - 1961 to 1980, I have at least temporarily brought up the former thread, which could well become a sticky, given its good information. Moderators - Is this feasible? Thank you.

Regards,

Dyson

Yes, the 44 Associates were very important historically in the quest for a big bore, safe round for hunters. Hard to believe it has been just over 50 years that there has been a potent factory cartridge over 40 caliber. The 44 Associates were fine pioneers along the way and deserve a better look at their labors. The problem is finding a source. Of course, we could simply search out a copy of their work to purchase and share....

Regards,

Dyson
