Default S&W .38 perfected

Hi, Guys and Gals!
I am looking at a S&W .38 Perfected with 50% blueing left on the gun no rust or pitting.
The guy wants $385.00 for the gun. Is it worth that should I pass? Is this a desirable little collectors oddity? Give me your opinions..Thanks, Marc

I don't know what they are worth but I'd like to have one. Its interesting in that its the first S&W that has a thumbpiece AND is a topbreak.
Were these made before the first model HEs or around the same time?

I think $385 is reasonable, but it seems to be on the high side of reasonable for 50% blueing. I'd offer less, maybe $350, and go from there. Is that the out-the-door price? I'm not sure about it being an oddity, but imho these old guns are always going to be desireable.

In my opinion $385 for a 50% gun is kind of high.

You did the right thing. Absurdly high even in these days of S&W frenzy for a gun in that condition. I bought a very good nickel Perfected a couple years ago for about 200 bucks.

Panamajack, pay know more than $325.00 unless your talking about a nice victory model. Then you could go up to $400.00

Hope this helps,
