Default 32 4TH MODEL advise

Hello guys and gals,

I have this 32 4th model I bought on gunbroker.com for 145.00
The gun is in great mechanical shape and the bore is great. There is some surface rusting but no pitting. The nickle is coming off of the revolver. The gun was renickled by the factory years ago, It has a star stampped next to the serial number on the butt of gun.

So, would you have the gun stripped down and blued to be a shooter and preserve it or would you have it stripped down and re nickled?
S&W will not touch the gun due to the age. So I will have to find some one...What do you guys think???

I'm surprised S&W won't even refinish it. Ford's did some nice work I've seen but some people have complained about recent jobs not being so good. I don't know.

Problem is that refinishing will cost nearly $300 with shipping both ways. Is the gun worth $445?
