Default Fair price for a Model 64-2?

I have a Model 64-2 with a 3" barrel (non-pinned), and round butt. I'm considering selling or trading so I can hopefully get a Model 19 or 66.

What's a reasonable asking price for a 3" Model 64 in good mechanical condition, but only fair cosmetic condition (scratches, etc.)?

I just put a Model 64-3 police trade-in on lay-away yesterday for $355.00 + tax (Pachmayr Pro grips, appears to have been carried much, and shot little - good lock-up, clean bore, impression of cartridges against the recoil shield). The dealer had plenty of 4.0 inch barreled Model 64's available - I think at $289.00 + tax. I've been looking for a 3.0 inch barreled K frame for quite some time now. I really wanted a Model 65, but this is the first 3.0 inch barreled K frame I've seen in some time at what I think is a good price. I hope this helps.

Best of luck,

Dave

Scratches on stainless guns are much much less of an issue than blued guns. In fact, scratches are easily polished out, and make the gun look like new. I would say that gun is worth 325-350, with correct wood magna's, give or take a few dollars. 3 inchers are sought after. Good luck.

I will agree with Mike the 3" barrel is a + and
I think $325 to $350 is about right. Don
