Default .38 special grips

Hey new to the forums this is my first post well i was given an old .38 special revolver and ive found out its a IND NAC DE ARMAS .38 special model 3 and i can not find anything on it but it looks a lot like some of the S&W revolvers Ive seen and i was wondering if anyone knows of S&W grips that would fit on the gun because i'm trying to restore it thanks.

Boy, your sorta on your own with that one. The only thing I can think of is to take it along to a shop with some used grips and try them. Too big is good as you can fit them with a bit of work. Good luck!

A quick google has a couple of hits on your pistol. Apparently an inexpensive, popular copy of an S+W made in Brazil.
Why don't you take a minute and remove the grips. Measure and discribe the frame area, as well as the current grips. A picture might work too.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.

You may be able to "jury rig" a pair of S&Ws or Charter Arms grips to fit.
What ever you do, I wouldn't shoot +P ammo in that gun. It wasn't designed for it. Good luck and welcome to the Forum.

MS - Welcome to the Forum.

Please post a picture of the grip frame of your revolver - we may be able to help you if we know exactly what you have. Put a tape measure next to the butt when you take a picture so we can see the width [of the butt of the gun]

Try Pachmayr's rubber target grip for K frame should fit.

Welcome to the forum. If you got the gun from your grandfather, enough said. I have several guns that I have been handed down that I will never get rid of, and hopefully my grandkids will not get rid of either. I would think some there should be some way to secure S&W replacement stocks to that frame.

The grip frame looks more like a Mark III Colt than a S&W. At 2" it's too big for K frame stocks to fit and the design is so unlike S&W I doubt anything for a Smith will work.

Try Numrich Arms (sometimes called Gun Parts Corporation) as they have many out of print parts.

Hi Matthew,

Welcome to the forum. If you haven't already done so, you may want to visit the local gun show and check out the grip vendors. There are usually always a couple of vendors with boxes of grips that they'll be happy to help you with -just watch your pocket book and make sure you're happy with the fit.

Best of luck,

Dave

I may be wrong but that picture sure looks like the D frame for colt as in the second version detective special, diamondback, agent, grips.Go over to a local gun shop that will work with you.I have extra grips that are rubber and wood for that model gun.PM me and I will be happy to send them to you and if they don't fit just pay the kindness foward and give them to someone who will use them......God Bless.....Mike
