My new snub nose Mod. 10 has the CPD stamp on it and Tony / VICEUNIT is going to try and look up the Cleveland Police department history for me .
But can any of you S&W buffs give me a DOB on my Mod.10 S/N C 4643XX I'm also thinking of paying for the S&W record's letter can some one tell me about getting a letter from S&W .

Probably early in 1949, like Feb or March. For $50 the letter will give you the exact ship date if it's worth $50 to you to know. Vast majority of the time there is no real additional info. The form can be found on the S&W corp. site under customer service or customer support.

S&w started model marking in 1957- so this being a model marked 10 with S/N C4643xx has a Mfg. date of sometime in 1960. hope this helps
