Mod. 10-7,square butt, magna stocks, 3" heavy barrel, is this special or just another run of the mill mod 10? There is an inscription on the left side of the frame just below the cylinder and I am unable to recall exactly what it is. 3 letters and then Georgia, UT I think. I cannot remember the ser# either. I know, I'm not much help but thought those experts would know in spite of the lack of complete information. Did S&W make a special run or is this one just out of its element? Hey, I've never seen one before so the curiosity, you know, if the butt was round this would be a sweet pocket piece. Thanks for your help.

C.A.I. is an arms importer, they are in Georgia VT. So that tells me it was from a foreign police or gov. agency.

It's been imported back into the U.S. I think the Peruvian gov't bought a bunch of 10-7s but I don't think I've seen a 3".

Found no foreign proof marks but you are correct on the initials, is this a premium situation or not? I believe it can be purchased for $300.00. Does this seem reasonable?

Is the barrel sort of in between a std. and a heavy barrel? Probably New South Wales or Turkish police gun, with that square butt.
Some will pay a premium for these, and some won't. But if it's in nice shape, ANY recent M&P/Model 10 is worth 300 bucks! Unless you're trying to re-sell for a profit... Then, you might have problems, unless the buyer is a collector wanting one of those variations. T-Star |
