My new M60 No-Dash
I just received a 1967 non letter serial# 490XXX RB M60 No-Dash I purchased off of Gunbroker. I had questioned the seller about the target grips that I was under the impression they were not original to the gun but an accessory, he said he purchased it from the original owner and they were on it, no other grips were included. The pistol came in the original box which was in excellent condition. I've located a couple of era correct grips that I have purchased off of Gunbroker that should be here in a week or so. The pistol looks like it has been shot only a few times and has been well cared for. I'm happy...

Someone with BIG hands may have ordered it that way or the dealer may have switched them out for him.

Dick: The guy I bought it from said the original owner had large hands so you may be right.
Paul: When I first saw the gun on Gunbroker I thought it was a square butt frame but it's a round butt under those grips. I like the grips and it feels good in the hand I just want the correct type that would have come on it.

I was just kidding. Those are nice grips and I wouldn't part with them either.

I do see a slight difference in the ones you have (Diamond pattern around screw hole) Vs the ones I have coming. What year of mfg is your M60?

That one is a 1965,this one is a 1966 or 1967.The early ones should be diamond magnas.
You have a very nice mdl.60. Dick

The diamond Magnas that came as OEM on early Model 60's were outwardly the same but different inside because they had SS washers ,
Blued and nickel guns like the Model 36 had blue washers until the early 70's when all S&W grips changed to SS washers inside. .

Those J frame target stocks are great for shooting lots of ammo at the range.
The Magnas you ordered are great for concealed carry.

The grips came in, I think I like the look better than the target grips.
