Welcome to the forum
Very nice looking -2. The 8 3/8" barrels are a little too gangly for me, but they do shoot great and make good silhouette guns.
FYI your grips are probably original to your gun. Very few target grips were numbered to the gun they shipped on.

Awesome piece. I am hoping to find a 6 1/2 inch or 8 inch barrel at the next show.
Since there was no box or papers, you must have got it for a good price?

What a nice lookin' 29! You take good pics too.
I have a few 29-2's, here's a 4, 6 &1/2 and 8 &3/8th's like yours.
(The big-ol'-gun is what you see first!)
Get out the sandbags and bench that at about 50 yards and let us know how you did.

Shiloh76-
That is a fine looking gun, with equally nice shoes!
Gail,
every time you post that blued 6.5" gun with those woods, I get out my guns and smack their shoes with a hammer a few times, just for bein' so ugly.
I am calling dibs on first chance at those!

It is a dangerous gun you have there for several reasons...
The most worrysome thing that you have to consider about it is~~~~~~~
~~ You will need more N frame Smith and Wessons in short order once you start shooting it!!!
You're local to me since I"ve seen you on PAFOA...
If you ever need to try out some other N frame Smiths, Look me up.
Peter

Peter - thanks. I hope to get this piece on the range before years end. I'm recovering from a broken collarbone but should be back in shooting shape by then (yeah, I could just use my good arm to shoot it, but I'm a horrible one-handed shot). I usually shoot at Classic Pistol in Southampton. I'll send you a PM before my next range trip - always ready to try another S&W!
GF -- those are some incredible guns you have there. Really spectacular -- my hat's off to you.
SWBigBang -- I got this gun for $525 through another forum. I picked up the grips separately; they set me back another $134 (she was wearing Hogue monogrips when I got her -- functional, but obviously nowhere near as pretty as these). So really the price was $659. Maybe a bit high considering it has no box, tools or papers, but I like it. Actually around here is SE PA at least, for a 29-2 in this shape, it's a very fair price, from what I've seen.

$659 - You did great. Those grips with the very dark grain are quite rare and valuable. The gun itself if immaculate and appears to be unfired from your pictures. Excellent.
