My favorite three 44s
Over the years I have had the good fortune of owning some nice Smiths, several I regret trading or selling. These are three that I have kept:
A 1950 Target 44 Special
A Pre 29 5.5 " 44 Magnum with Cokes
A 624 44 Special 4" engraver unknown, with Ivory grips

Can we get more pics of the 5.5” pre 29? That’s rather interesting especially if it’s original. I have heard of 4.5”, but not 5.5”.

S&W shipped thirteen Model 29s with a 5 1/2-inch barrel, one Model 29-2 with a 5 1/2-inch barrel and one 29-2 with a 4 1/2-inch barrel (that we know of). Maybe the OP has found a very rare variation?

You guys sure have some excellent examples of 44 hand ejectors I must admit while not the classic yours ate my 629-1 has the sweetest smoothest action of any revolver I have ever handles.
