Anyone else like older 66's??
I've been spending the last several days cataloging and photographing my S&W collection. I have several more days of effort but here is one of my pictures of some NIB Mod. 66's. I'm the original owner of them all.
I'm more into N frame Smith's but I love the K and L frame magnums too....

Very nice! I've aways had a soft spot for the K's, I learned to shoot with a 19 as a boy.
Thanks for sharing
Merry Christmas all

I had just finished determining that they were all 66-1's (except for the lower right) when I read the caption. Doh!
However, it wasn't wasted time. Gorgeous revolvers, enviable collection!

Yep! You must be taking lessons from Art on photography. He takes the best.
Your's look great. I'm a snub loving guy, but they are all keepers and have their own place for use.

I've wondered if the early 66's with the stainless sights are any more sought after or have any more extra value?
Wonderful collection by the way!

Nice pic and collection. It's nice to have all three barrel lengths in the 66-1s.

I suppose a mint with box, aperwork, and tools would bring extra money for the stainless rear sights but I don't think they go for more if shooter grade like mine.

Well done, it is hard to find fault with a 66.

Thanks for all the thoughtful comments!
I've had much of my inspiration from both fyimo and Doc44. Let me tell ya... I had no idea how masterful and talented these guys are with photography until I attempted this project. I have much to learn.
I'll be posting a picture or two on occasion if I believe it will contribute something to this forum. Thanks again for the generous comments....

Love the 66's
Very nice, but incestuous, family portrait .
Thanks for sharing!
BTW, I also love the 66's and have a few as well (for as we all know "One is Never Enough"). This is a 66-1 that I just posted on the Combat Magnum thread...

Model 66, K949140, one of the first 100 Model 66s made. Manufactured in 1970 and kept in the factory collection until being shipped in 1975. A great shooter and one of my favorite revolvers.

Nice 66s. I want some more of them. Only have one, a 66-2, 2.5". I'm new here so the next thing I have to do is get a camera and learn to take pictures!
One of my brothers has a 66 ND 6-1/8"bbl that's a bit odd, I guess.

Doc, I also have an early 66 no-dash (4K10XX), complete with all-stainless sights, although, obviously, not as early as yours. It's my favorite gun.

"Anyone else like older 66's?"
That's like asking, "anyone like beer?"
Seriously, what's not to like? They are great!

I picked up a #66 no dash, pinned & recessed of course. $425 out the door at A pawn shop. A few scratch marks, but good timing. It will make me a great trail gun.

I've had my 2.5" for several years and carry it often. One of the best CCW revolvers ever made. Don't know why S@W felt they had to go with a number system in the 50s. 66 just doesn't have the same effect as "Combat Magnum".
Nice collection!

I only have 2 66's left in my collection both mint , both got boxes. One 66-1 2 1/2 inch and a 66-2 3" inch. Both are great carry guns. But I like the 3 inch better than 2 1/2 because fo "full stroke" ejection.
