Hi, welcome and Happy New Year! A 1970 production gun. If it is new in box with all the paperwork, tools, etc., I would guess in the $500 range. Interested to see what others think. Hope this is helpful.

Hi! Thanks a bunch, didn't think it that old. I like it more now. Can't wait to shoot. I'm wondering if it's a target model due to the long barrel. Thanks!

The full name of this gun is the K-38 Target Masterpiece, so technically it is a target gun . Many more were made with 6" than 8 3/8" barrels, as yours has.
If yours has a very wide hammer spur and trigger, these parts are known as Target types - you'll see a gun with both these on the gun referred to as a "full Target" revolver. Happy New Year, and enjoy!

Did you leave out a digit in the serial number? 14-4s started in 1977 if I'm reading right.
Welcome to the forum. 14s are usually great shooters.

Hi! Thanks for the heads up, your right. I did leave off a digit, it's actually 81K51xx. Does that make more sense? It's a nice firearm either way. Thanks for your help.

81K makes it a 1980 gun.
