For those interested, AA Item# 9516479
Thanks for your help on this going forward
I apologize. I didn't mean to violate the rules. Hopefully pictures are okay and sufficient to describe the item of curiosity.

Do you really have time to mess with a combination, while an intruder is coming in your house?

It appears to be a 1983 vintage Model 60 (serial number, features, spec ord code, packaging…) with several aftermarket ... uh,... upgrades???
Here’s an interesting article on the grip lock. I thought the IL was ugly!

Shares of SAF-T-LOK INC. (Nasdaq SmallCap: LOCKC), a manufacturer of handgun safety devices, shot up as much as 1200% in just two days last week, rising from Wednesday's price of $7/16 to a high Friday of $5 3/4. The stock closed Friday at $4 9/16 per share, up $1 9/16 on extraordinary volume of 18.4 million shares. This astonishing two-day gain followed Wednesday's announcement by the Clinton Administration that eight of the nation's leading gun manufacturers, responsible for 80% of all handguns sold in the U.S. each year, will soon include a child-safety lock with each new handgun sold.

Looks to me like a Model 60 with an early laser sight (under the barrel), and as mentioned earlier, an interlock/safety lock of some sort. I've never seen the interlock/safety before, but I have seen a few examples of the laser. One gun shop that had the laser was asking $300.00 for it. When I asked for the reason behind the high price the owner told me that he was hoping someone would be willing to pay a premium price for a "historic item". The laser has been sitting in his show case for about a year now. I'll stick with Crimson Trace and Lasermax grips.
Regards,
Dave
