Default Re-Blueing

Anyone know the cost of having a Mod 10 with a 4" barrel re-blued by S&W? What prep work should be done b 4 I ship it back?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I paid $250 to have a 6.5" 29 reblued. That included shipping and I had them replace the complete rear sight and all the screws and whatever they felt needed to be replaced. It turned out great. No prep work is needed just remove grips and put a note as to what you want done with a phone number to contact you, also do not write "To Smith&Wesson or S&W" on the box write to SAW so it is not obvious it is a gun in there.

After you get your newly re-blued gun back, MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THE OUTSIDE OF THE GUN WELL-OILED!
I got a surprise when I checked on a re-blued gun, as there was a fine patina of brown discoloration covering the new bluing. I was told this is common. I gave the gun a good going over with Break Free CLP, gave it a once over it daily for that first week, and it was fine after that.

Info on shipping to S&W.

Shipping and Returns - Smith & Wesson

As said in a previous post do not put Smith&Wesson on the shipping label. Use Customer Service as noted in their instructions. I had a Model 28 re-done by them and it is fantastic.

They quoted me $200 for a 48-4 6". I haven't sent it so I don't know if the price is still good. I opted to have 2 others rebuilt last year instead. (Before they get too old for them to repair.)

The cost for a standard polish and blue is $190, plus shipping. Here's a link to the thread on the Model 58 that I had refinished: Model 58, refinished by S&W

Hi, here is the link to the Performance Center page, with price quotes. They only work on model-marked guns and no Airweights per a recent conversation. Before and after photos, please?
