Default Let's see your Model 19 grip pics!

Hello all,

I recently bought a round butt model 19-5 with 2.5" barrel and original grips. It feels ok in the hand, but I think it would be better with something that fills the hand more without getting to "target" size.

I wonder if I could impose on you guys who own this model to post pics of your round butt M19s with custom (or non original) grips, or your recomendations. I'm sure others could use this info as well.

Also, please let me know if this has been discussed in another thread.

Thanks in advance.

My 19-2 2.5" has the factory grips and a Tyler T-grip. To me, no better feel on a model 19 snubby exists.

If you don't like the looks of the old gold colored one shown in the pic, Tyler makes them in both polished aluminum, flat and gloss black, and now bronze.

That's another thing I forgot to ask. I've read a lot of members here recomend the Tyler T-grip, and after holding the original grips on my round butt I can understand how it would improve the feel of the gun.

Thanks C&Ld for bringing it up.

Ditrina, that is an impresive package. Like I said, I'm intrigued by the T-grips.

RS2, those Spegels are sweeet!!!

Hawkeye, those Hogues are beautiful. How do they conceal?

Lot's of good options. Thanks guys. This is just what I was looking for.

Please keep those pics coming.

If you have a weak stomach, Please look away.
I found this in a local shop.
Just as you see it
But it was 325 last year.

I think is was humiliated looking like an overgrown bodyguard.
So I got it home, Cleaned it up and put some wood on 'er.

I still have the Bianchi grips.
They are some heavy rubber grips that turn your K frame into a bodyguard.

I can see how those may work on a model 60, but you're right, they look funky on the M19.

By the way (not trying to highjack my own thread), but what are you guys using to keep the nickle so shinny?

I've had some experience with polishing stainless steel, but I'm new to nickle and don't want to ruin it.

Just a little Flitz will shine them up real nice!
The Bianchi grips on the above 19 are REAL comfy if that helps,
Funny looking yes, But very nice to shoot with,
Peter

Not a model 19 but a 66-no dash 2.5" K-frame. Factory wood and Tyler-T once (twice actually) again.

Pachmayr "Compac" grips do a nice job of taming recoil.

This is a 19-3 that I got from a good natured uncle. I just love finger groove combats, I bought this set at a gun show and replaced the magnas. Perhaps not quite as good for ccw, but they look good, feel good, and add a great amount of control.

WOW! Well, you know what they say about variety. Those Ahrends look cool and the Hogues (laminated?) look to be very concealable.

C&L, there is something "Roght" about those smooth magnas and the T-grip.

I'm torn between some of these or just using the T-grip. Maybe I just need to find a second M19...

Here are a couple options for you. Not a 19, but other K-Framed Round Butts. My Favorites, the Pachmayr Presentation Compac Professionals on the 66 and a new set of Dan Collins crafted Birdseye Maple Boots on the 2" 64. ....Zebulon

I almost wish I had my 19 2 1/2" set up like this back in the day. I got in a foot pursuit with a perp. I was in plaincloths and was assisting in an assualt with a DW. I shoved my 19 in my back as I brought him to the ground. When I got up I took it out from my back, I found the hammer had hung up on my belt and was cocked.

I bought these NILL grips for my 3" 629, but when i sold it
i kept the grip (way to expensive to send with the gun )

Tryed it on my M19
and with some modifying this is what it look's like now.
Unfortunatly won't work with HKS speedloaders.

sorry for the dirty revolver but i came straight from the range

Model 19-5 with Ahrends. They feel great and conceal well (not too thick) and don't stick below the bottom of the gripframe more than a 1/4" or so.

Here's some old Mustang zebrawood grips on my 70's vintage 4" Model 19 - used to be a square butt, now a round butt. Also slimmed down the grips, and reduced the backstrap .....

Default Grips

I've researched the Tyler T Grips but I cannot find these style of wood grips anywhere! This is an absolutely AMAZING piece of art. Would you mind sharing where these wood grips came from?
