Nice gun.........but looks like a couple of guys got into a bidding war and drove the price up. The seller has to be happy.

Its only money...my gun collection has whipped my 401K, just like the rest of you I suspect. How much is too much?

It doesn't sound that far out of line considering what these go for. Of course, I would not pay that much for it.
But if someone really wanted one and is tired of looking, I can see buying this one.

A 4" nickel, in excellent condition for $1004? Am I missing something? I don't think that is out of line, if so not by much.

Nice to know that I saved quite a bit on the one I bought yesterday.
Mine was even produced earlier, although I estimate the date as 1980, instead of 1979. Mine does not have the red insert or white outline rear.

No doubt there is always the chance of coming across a real bargain, and if you got a comparable one for a lot less, more power to you! But that is a hit or miss thing that you can't count on.
I'm just saying that the guy who won the auction may not want to wait, possibly forever, to find another one this nice.

Might have sold or than most of us would of thought but compared to the price of a new "Classic" 27 I think any 27-2 in that kind of condition is a nicer revolver.
