Year of manufacture on Model 60?
Hi. Hoping you can help identify the year of manufacture for a Model 60, SN R269xxx, .38 Special, with a 2" barrel.

R prefixes can be spotty. Probably mid to late 1980.

Yes, you can obtain a letter of authenticity from the S & W Historical Foundation that will give the ship (sales) date, its official factory birthday.
