Default Fair Price on Model 49 Bodyguard

I've found an old model 49 bodyguard at a pawn shop. It's a pin barrel with the magna diamond grips and no box. It's very tight and no dings. It looks like it layed in a drawer and had a little rust at one time and some touched the bluing up.

I can get it for $480.00 OTD. Is that too much? IF that's too high what's a fair price?

Hi, that would be a decent price for a NIB gun, but it is high for the gun as described. I'd guess more along the lines of $350 if it is mechanically sound.

yeah I'm with murph, that's a little too steep, I saw one in a shop a few weeks ago tagged at 425, no idea what it went for, but it went.

About 8 months ago the same shop had this gun tagged at 425,

I left with it for 320 OTD, if that gives you any indication

IMO the $350 for the M49 sounds more correct. When you figure the touched up blue that would be tops for me anyway.

I picked a 49 up last month for $385. It has very little finish wear (turn line and a little bit at the muzzle) and came with a box. I'd say $350 would be about the most I would pay, if the gun is in good shape mechanically, and I'd try to get him to come down to around $325.

I agree with the above posts, $350-$385 should be good. However, on a day when my willpower is weak I might pay more for a really nice one.

I'd make an offer of $325 and see where it gets you. You have nothing to lose and a nice model 49 to gain.
