I pulled this one out of the safe tonight and thought I would show it off. I am sure there are others out there but this is the only one I have ever seen. Md17-1 8 3/8th's with all the tools and papers. Hope you like.

Jim,

I also have one in my collection. Model 17-1 8 3/8 inch barrel, target hammer, and numbered Magna stocks. It was shipped August 1963 to Olyphant, PA. One of these days I'll start to post some pictures.

Those stocks really set that 17 off, don't they?! I've been looking for a set, but they are rarer than hen's teeth. As for the gun itself, just spectacular. My 17-4 long barrel is maybe my favorite target gun, or is it my 17-3, 6"?
Thanks for sharing this one,
Tom

That's really nice. All my K-22s have six-inch tubes. I need to get a longnose model one of these days.

Thumbs up

A 17-1 in 8 &3/8ths is a rare bird. Even rarer with the whole package.

I have a Mod 17 & -4 with the long tube and I think they're the "sleeper" of Mod 17 collecting.

Went to the gunshow today looking for a 4" 617 or 18 without luck.
Instead found this very nice 8 3/8" Model 17-4 ... no box, tools or docs...But....I must admit I was guilty of throwing the boxes away back in the day also...

Here's my 8 3/8" model 17-3. It is from 1977 and has the 3Ts. It also has a red post insert front sight like those pictured by Engine49guy and GF. It came to me as shown, but with no box or papers.

Default Nice!

All of those are much nicer than mine, I have a 17-3 with the 8 3/8" barrel. I didn't know squat about these, I bought it about 2 years ago at Cabela's for I want to say about $350 or so. It had blue damage from what looks like poor storage in a cheap case. Mechanically like new though, I love it.

Mine is apart right now because I finally did track down a NOS set of SA target hammer and trigger parts, both .500 and I need to find time to install them and more importantly test fire!

Numrich lists a "SA trigger return spring" what is that about? Wasn't aware there would be a different return spring? I'm guessing it's lighter? I don't think I would bother with it, the SA pull was perfect even with the DA parts in it including the "DA spring". I prefer a strong trigger reset, doesn't matter to me if it adds a .5 pound to the pull.
