Question S&W Model 65 Cylinder feels kind of loose

I have in my S&W collection a Model 65-2 with a pinned barrel and since I am disabled and had an amputation this past July,I have to ride down the steps on a stairglide chair. Well,I was going to the range so,I had my 65 in the hard blue case that Smith puts out and carrying my ammo boxes in the range bag,the blue case fell from my hands and slid and bounched down the basement steps. Well, now comparing the 65 to my Ruger GP and SP101s,the cylinder when not cocked isnt as tight or when cocked either. Did I damage something inside or is this normalfor the cylinder not to be as tight????? I havent checked my M10s 4 inch barrels since they havent been out of safe for awhile so,any suggestions please??? rz625-8 When I shot my 65,it didnt show any shaving from the cylinder and barrel. I used 3 of 158+p and 125+ps factory for shooting with jhps and everything looks ok but,has me kinda worried. THANKS.

I suspect that the free play you notice is normal. I doubt if the spill it took did any damage at all. Rugers seem to lock up tighter than Smiths, in my experience, too. Just glad you didnt take a spill!

I agree with this post. Full lockup is pulling the trigger all the way back and holding it there. Then check for cylinder play and end shake. Don

you didn't hurt it. keep shooting and have fun. When I was a young, handsome flatbellied officer I took off running after a fugitive, and my M66 came out of my swivel holster and went skidding down the asphalt...THAT hurt it...
enjoy your range time
