Default Model 34-1 Snubby

Just picked up a 34-1 Snubby which I had been looking for for about two years. It really looks NIB and locks up tight. The cylinder has no "Rimfire Rings" and the barrel looks spotless. No marks of any kind. I bought it to keep my 17, 18 and 617 company. Serial number is M963xx. SCSW dates this to 1973 to 1977. Anyway to get any more exact on date of manufacture without a letter? I am assuming since the S/N is near the end of the date range that is would be 1976 or 1977. Also, what size tools would have been sent with this gun? It came with box and all papers but no tools.

Thanks!

None of the experts have chimed in so I'll take a shot at it. I saw a gun like yours this weekend at a show, looked NIB with correct box and paperwork and it had no tools in it. ($610 ask)
I have one that's not nearly in the condition yours is and it's complete with box and papers and a cleaning rod with brush.

Tools are the first thing separated from a NIB gun. If you find a short cleaning rod, brush and screwdriver I think you'd be correct for a complete package.

Forum member Twomoons recently had an ad running in our classifieds for 2 different .22 cal cleaning kits, both complete, one 4"er and one 6"er, that would be correct for the timeframe of that gun. I don't know if he still has them or not. He has an ad running right now for some .44 kits as well. I have dealt with him a few times, and can say that he is a stand-up guy.
