I'd say the stocks are off another gun. Are they non-diamond Magna's?

I'm not very knowledgeable on grips, so I would not be sure if I did say.

Those are post-1967 Magna stocks from another gun, which were fitted to the grip frame and numbered before finishing. I believe your gun came with target stocks, which didn't require fitting and weren't numbered (except for some early versions from the 1950's).

A model 25-2, .45ACP
N139531
Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but my source (Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson) reports that N serial Prefix numbers on Models 25, 27, 28, 29, 57, 58, 520 and 629 commenced in 1969 and that from 1970 to 1972, serial numbers N1 thru N6000 were made and that from 1972 to 1974, serial numbers N60001 thru N190000 were made; which seems to indicate that your Model 25-2 was made sometime between 1970 and 1972.

I know nothing except what I read in terms of reference material. I was quoting page number 294 in the Second Edition, which led me to believe that my Model 25-2 (serial no. N62XXX) was made in 1972 and that the op's revolver was made sometime between 1970 and 1972 . It would seem that later editions of the same tome would be more correct so, at least according to the "Third Edition", when was mine made?

Thanks, Art-but something's not adding up for me. The op described his Model 25-2 as having the serial number of 139531 (a six digit number) and, yet, your source puts my five digit number (62XXX) Model 25-2 as being made several years later. What am I missing?

Yours would also probably be a 1971 gun as the range is N1 to 99999 from 1969-1972.
