The model 60 was made in the middle 1960s. The Model 36 was likely made in 1961 but could have shipped in 1962.

Based on serial numbers of others near them in the database,
S&W probably shipped the Model 60 in or after the summer of '68
and the Model 36 in June 1963.

Thanks guys. The 1968 ship date fits for the Model 60. It is one of four that I acquired that were engraved by REI Engravers from Park Forest, IL - Robert E. Izenstark (Bob). The other three are from 1969. REI was in business from 1968-1973. The engraving was likely done by Japanese engravers hired during this period. This one and two others are attributed to Hiroo Sugaya. The grips are by Jerry Evans.
I've posted it in the past, but here's a pic so nobody will holler.

You must have changed your name on the forum.
I remember when you posted that one in August last year. Thanks for sharing it again.
It's a handsome Model 60 from the fifth and largest production run of the '60s.
