It looks great!

I'm sending mine into Joe next week. His work does look very good and he has been great to talk everything over with.

Joe's the man to go to on presentation case restoration. Joe can qoute you a price based on what he needs to do like refinish the entire case, just the inner liners, or replace a hinge. I feel it's his place to do that.

For what he did, he was VERY reasonable!! Art is correct- email him and ask him directly, he will not steer you wrong.

I have had Joe do several cases for me. He is good, and very reasonable. He is also quite a good guy to deal with, and like Art said, he knows exactly what you'll need, and how to do it right.

Here is another one by Joe. It is the case from my 629 P&R 6"-

Joe is restoring my 27-2 box now. Can't wait to get it back!

I just recieved one back from Joe today for my 629 no dash with 6 inch barrel and it's perfect.

Case restoration!

Thank you to all that have sung my praise! ! ! I'm a retired old fart working at a hobby that I enjoy seeing the results of my labor! For those who have inquired, I get $35.00 plus return shipping per set of liners. This is my standard price unless your liners are baddly broke up. I only restore your original liners, I am unable to manufacture a liner! I can also replace a broken hinge with an exact replacement and I can also refinish the outside of the cases if required!

CaseAfterD.jpg

This is a before and after of my pride and joy. I have seen only three of these cases, all of which I restored!

I lied!
P3080004.jpg

This is a black case for the early 44 Magmuns and I can manufacture a set of liners for these cases! The originals are so poorly made they are impossible to restore and/or duplicate!
If anyone has any questions about these cases and the restoration please email me at [email protected]

Joe, from what I can see here you do excellent work and I have a question, if you have a liner with a crack or split as a lot of them do, are you able to repair that split and or do you reinforce from the back? Thanks, Bob

Besides being an old fart and doing presentation cases, he's a straight shooter - no BS. Joe and I have had numerous dealings in the past few years.
Thanks Buddy!

Another testimonial for JC ELECT

When I restore the type of liners that crack and many times have holes and/or pieces missing I use spray foam in the back. This foam reinforces the liner in future use and it provides a base for the needed repairs to the front side. After the repairs are made I reflock the top and the bottom liner to insure a good color match.

This is a liner that was crack and broken!

Case repair pics

Joe - You have email. Posted pics below are same that is in e-mail.

I have this box for my 29-2 that has peeled off liner outer cover. Is this the kind of condition that you can easily restore.
Thanks.

Case Restoration

Hey gunhaha
This is what your case will look like when I am done!

Please send me the liners without cleaning them up? There is a little tag with printing on it and I believe it is in the barrel channel. These tags are almost always GONE! Also the blue plastic pull tabs are usually GONE! This set of liners will cost $35.00 plus return shipping to restore!

The little tag in the barrel channel is loose sticker note saying "Lift Tab for Literature". I think its just an instruction to lift the blue tabs out to get the bottom liner out as the paperworks are under the liner.

PM or e-mail me the address to send the case for your restoration.

I assume from the your post above that you just want me to send just the liners (upper foam and lower styro) and not the box/case itself.

Joe's work is absolutely outstanding. We are lucky to have such a talented person as a member of the SWCA and this forum who performs work at the very reasonable rates that he charges.

Ok I'll bite. 'Electric Upgrade' that possibly measures humidity level?

I sent him the box with the liners- if you send just the liners, there is a chance that they may break in transit, IMHO. I also had Joe touch up the case and fix a hinge, so if there is anything about the case that may need his attention, he also does work on the case at a very reasonable rate. Top notch gentleman to work with.
