Default Muzzlebrake on a revolver

Found one of those "clamp-on" muzzlebrakes that were made for Smith & Wesson revolvers years back. Has anyone actually used one and does it significantly reduce muzzle jump?

I have two of them. One in .38 for my pre-14 and one in .45 that I've used on a .44. Didn't notice a significant difference in feel, but accuracy seemed to suffer. Others may differ, but I just think they are best kept as neat collectibles.

Good thing you don't write the ads for S&W...I'm still chuckling.

I have one for a Model 14. I noticed a tiny bit of difference with recoil, but not enough to write home about. Accuracy didn't seem to change. It is interesting to hear about comments when one is on the pistol.

The only muzzle brake I have any experience with muzzlebrakes is the integrated one on my G.I.G.N. 586.
It does a marvelous job on taming things when it goes bang.
The drawback being what seems to be somewhat much more noise and "blast" .
Maybe is it strictly a subjective appreciation.
Would you mind to post a picture of this "clamp on "brake? I've never heard anything about them.
Thank you for sharing your experience.

have one on a model 14 83/8 bbl. you notice it most when shooting dbl action, but when you are used to shooting without one and then try a gun with one, you can tell a difference. shooting swaged lead hbwc loads you will have to clean out the lead in the port after 100-150 rds. depending on how hard the bullets are. they do tend to loosen up and change point of impact after a while depending on the speed of the ammo. the hotter the ammo through the gun, the more difference it makes in felt recoil.
