Default 29-2 Sight adjustment

I finally got my new to me 29-2 4" out today, along with my 686-6+ and 28-2 4". I had previously adjusted my 357's to POA however the 29-2 was really to the left. It wasn't my shooting, I have been at this for a long time, and my other 2 were perfect today. I had to move the rear blade darn near all the way to the right to get the POA correct. Is this unheard of or fairly common. All of my other revolvers/pistols the rear blade is more or less centered when properly adjusted. I tried 240 gr WWB and some 240gr full house Double Tap loads and both were far off to the left until I moved the blade over. The guy that owns the range is a 44 nut and I let him try it and he had the same results, to the left until blade way over. I'd hate to think my 29-2 has a problem, it's in mint condition, fired very little. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I own several N frames like that. I am not sure what the reason is for their being that way, but it is what it is. I don't like looking at them from behind, since it makes me feel that I have an inferior weapon somehow, but that is what the adjustable sights are for after all. I have found though, that by changing velocity, and/or the type of bullet, that I can bring most of them back to center.

Sometimes you can rap on the ejector rod housing with a plastic or rawhide mallet to slightly rotate the barrel in the frame, and it is possible to do even on pinned barrels. There is almost always a thousandth or two of play around the pin to work with. If your gun shoots way left, you would need to rap the left side of the housing to try to bring the front blade around to the left. Remember, move the rear sight in the direction you want to move impact, but move the front sight in the opposite direction like you would with a bow sight.

Several of my N frames have the same condition and like it has been stated it isn't pretty to look at the rear sight with the blade that far to the right but that's what it takes to get centered on a target.

I haven't tried turning the barrel though.
