Default Questions about a model 13-3

I just picked up a 13-3, 4" barrel, pinned and recessed # 2K923XX. Would anyone tell me it's year of manufacture?

Also, it looks a bit different from the other M13s: it resembles a M19 w/adjustable sights, shrouded ejector rod, target trigger and hammer, and overtravel stop.

Overall condition is about 98%, but the bluing (esp on the barrel)has a slight purple cast to it.

Can you folks tell me about this revolver?

I bet if you take a magnifying glass to the model number you'll find it to be a M19, many times the stamping isn't done right and 3's can look like 9's.
The K in the serial number is a giveaway, M13's were M&P models and the earlier guns used a D prefix. The K in the s/n would indicate a M19. The adjustable sights and shrouded barrel are also giveaways.

If it's really stamped as a M13, it's one of the many mis-marked guns that are shipped on a somewhat regular basis.... it happens.

I'm hardly the expert, but I never heard of a Model 13 with adjustable sights or a Model 19 type underlug barrel. Purple cast is often the indicator of an indifferent reblue. As far as I knew all M-13s were build with nontapered barrels and service sights. I never saw one with a target hammer or trigger from the factory, but that doesn't mean they never built one.

Sounds off to me.

SmithNut- yoa are right. The 3 is really an off-striked 9, so its a 19-3. What would be its date of manufacture?

Thanks for your help.
