What grips are original to my 66-1?
What grips are the originals? My police trade-in came with a WELL-worn set of Pachmayr Presentations. I'd like to know what the original grips were, and where I could find a set.

If your 66-1 is a 4", then the original factory stocks would have been K-frame checkered Targets made of Goncalo Alves wood, with the football recess on the left panel. If it is a 2-1/2" round butt, it would have come with checkered round butt magnas made of Walnut.

You didn't say if your 66-1 police trade-in has a department logo on the sideplate. Here is a 4" 66-1 shipped October 1979 to the Missouri State Highway Patrol with their 50-year anniversary shoulder patch on the sideplate and original (refurbished by VM) dual cutout factory presentations stocks.
