Default Gun shop specials

Hi,

Was in one of my favorite gun shops yesterday and in the display case was a model 36 and a model 19-4 6 inch barrel. Price on the model 36 was $138 out the door and the model 19-4 was $269 out the door. Now both revolvers had a fair amount of surface rust on the frames. The model 19 did not have as much as the model 36. I checked both revolvers for function and lock-up. I also checked both of them for rust in the cylinders and barrel bores. Did not see any. Both revolvers function good and other than the rust outside both of this revolvers can be cleaned up and make good shooters. The revolvers were not used much just not taken care of. So bottom line I bought both of them. I will include pictures once I get them. I believe these are diamond in the rough revolvers and of I like older Smiths.

Stay tuned for pictures after I clean them up.

Regards,

Where's the 'passed out and hit the floor' emoticon?

Nice score! In CA too!! Why can't I find a 19 for $269?!

Just lucky I guess. I have always had a hard time finding good deals in California. The only deal I found is a 66-4 4 inch for $300. Most of the time gun shops in California want $100 more for any handgun.

Looks like you got a CCW and a target gun for about $400. There is nothing wrong with that. Don

At those prices, I would not care if there was rust

There is a fine line between rust and patina. Depends on which side of the counter you're on.

Nice finds!
