I really like these S&W presentation grips. They came on a 27-2 that I purchased recently. Turns out that the gun was re-nickeled by the factory at some point. I'm selling the gun to a friend and keeping the presentation grips and presentation box.

Model 60-7 with Ahrends grips in osage orange. They're pretty new, so they should age to a darker orange, and become less yellow with time.

I had a request for more pictures of #2 from one of our stock junkies so here they are. The gun is my Pre-26 that shipped with magnas. Those guns were also shipped with unrelieved rosewood targets but these work just fine for me, for a while anyway.

These are the only set of smooth stocks I have. I have these on my model 28-2. These also make a lot of difference shooting with these instead of the original grips. Ray

It's always fun to jump onto an old thread. Here's the only thing I have photographed. My Md 681 with Ahrends Retro Targets. I LOVE them. Just recently, I moved them from this gun to my Md 14. They even look better on the 14.

Here is a pair of Eagle Rosewood stocks that I got in '79 for my Model 66-1 duty revolver. I carved out a speed loader cut out,
shortened the length and rounded the butt "plainclothes" style. I then added stainless medallions, screw and escutcheons.

These strated out as beat to snot K frame targets. I always pick them up when I can buy them cheap, and convert them to a more usuable style for K frame round butts:
On a 3" 65
On a 696

A Few Photos to Tide You Over...
This is a great thread. As a lover of Smooth Target stocks, I found it unusual that I had not posted in this thread - so after several years of watching but not sharing, here's a few of mine - in no specific order:
Kurac Ebonies on a Factory cut 629:
Smoothies on a R Smith engraved early Model-marked 29:
Ahrends on a 586:
Smoothies on a Rentzschke engraved pre-27:
On a scoped pre-27:
Ahrends on a Scoped 627:
One of my favorite photos (pre-27) along with a detail of the stock:
Another pre-27 with ivory inserts:
A little smooth ivory:
My favorite "shooter" with some stocks that I traded a 5" 27-2 barrel for...
Smooth Rosewood magnas:
K-22 Combat Masterpiece (in every sense of the word) with appropriate smooth magnas:
An old photo of a Model 18 with some beauties:
So for all you fellow smoothie lovers, hopefully this helps you make it through your afternoon.
Thanks for letting me share,
