Default Modified Model 57

In my S&W collection, I have my collectables and then I have my shooters. I got this one at a gun show and knew that it would be a shooter. It is a model 57 no-dash, that has been fitted with a 5" barrel and different front sight. It has a smooth-as silk trigger job and Hogue grips. Also it is finished in a satin nickel.
I got a factory letter that says it was shipped in 1978 and started out as a 4" blue model. It looks as if the gunsmith did a very good job on the modifications. I will try to get to the range next week to try it out.

OK, so call me a parrot ! That's a fine-looking M57, and I'd bet a small amount that it turns out a good shooter as well. Congrats !

Sweet piece for sure! That gun deserves a signature set of Kurac combats, the sooner the better!

Nicely done gun...

I have two 5" .41s..one is a 657 the other a 1964 57...

One of those variations S&W should have made more of...
