27-2 Nickel 6" 1980 manufactured Price range?
I have a chance to get another 27-2 in really good condition 99%+. It hasn't been fired much and really faint turn line. What is the price range these are selling for as he wants me to make him an offer and I don't have any idea of its value. No box or papers.
Thanks,

$600 may be a starting point, to see what he says. It's low, but you would hate to go over the price he has in mind.
At least you may get him to say what he wants for it. I'm not one to play games or haggle much, so if he says $600 is too low but still will not state his price, I would probably just walk.

I would do what everyone does to me when I'm trying to sell something, make him give you a price.

In my book, someone who won't put a price on an item doesn't want to sell it.

Whenever I'm placed in a position of "making an offer", I offer exactly one half of what I think it's worth. You'll find out real quick what the real price is. I hate to dicker or lowball, but sometimes a deal can be had.

Offer him $450. If he declines then you'll know he knows what it's worth and has been waiting for you to over offer. If he declines.. ask him how much he wants for it. If it comes in less than $625 go for it. HTH c good

He finally set a price.............
I looked it over and it is in really good shape, he said he would want $725.00 for it. It seems pretty close to brand new and it is around the 1980 date of mfg. from the serial #. So what do you guys think??????? Barely has a turn line, grips are perfect, and inside barrel is pristine. No dings on gun and nickel finish in in great shape. Only thing is no box or papers.
Thanks,

I paid 800 for an 8 3/8" 27-2 with box from a forum member. So for CA. I would guess that is not a steal but a reasonable price.

I think $725 is at the high end of the market without a box, paperwork and tools. If it's as pristine as you say and you want it I would still go for it.
I paid $675 for that same gun without box during the post election buying frenzy and I paid $725 for a 5 inch nickel 27-2 with the presentation case and tool kit during the same time frame.

Prices have been dropping. Two years ago $750-$800 would have been a CA price, today I would offer $500, if he has had it since new that probably $200 more than he paid for it.

I paid $699 for an 8 3/8" in pristine condition in nice presentation case. I don't think you'd go too far wrong offering $650 and be willing to pay $675.

I recently bought a really nice nickel 27-2, with presentation case, smooth targets grips, papers, and tools, for $700. That's what I've paid for 27-2's with presentation cases in the last few years here in California.
I remember thinking once that $600 was ... max what I would pay for a 27. But those days are slipping by -- I don't see them sitting on shelves for very long -- that is when I see them! So I guess I disagree with fellow collector/accumulator C Good -- it's not clear prices on these babies are falling, at least in my neck of the woods.

I paid $425 for a 6" nickel 27-2 at an auction in January. No box but in excellent shape with the original grips.

27-2 Price
I just bought a 1982 NIB, all paperwork, sealed tool kit, nickel 4" with TT/TH/TS/RR/WO, for $1,000 shipped. I tried everywhere, including the forum, to find one in this cofiguration and in good condition, but this is the only one that suited me. So, if you like it, and don't get that sick feeling when you think of buying it, then go for it. A friend of mine reminded me just the other day," the displeasure of poor quality lasts long after the sweetness of a good price has faded away". So we make the choice and live with it.

I agree. I have one of these in a presantaion case and papers that I bought new in about 78..and the extras are probably worth about $150- $200 more.
Then again it depends on the area and how bad you want it too. Good luck!

I sold one here a few months back for $600. Pristine,no box or docs. Prices on 6" nickel 27-2's have come down in the last year. Don't know about Kali prices.

In March of this year my wife gave me an early birthday present; a blue finish 6” M 27 -2; came equipped with the wooden presentation case, target grips, and tools. When I received it there was no visible turn line. It appeared to have been carried some but shot very little, believe me I’m doing my best to reverse that trend.
The Lovely and Charming paid $595.00 out the door, so I have to believe even for a nickel revolver the price you have been quoted appears to be a little high.
Remember they are not making any more of them SO if you really this one and can pull it off go for it!

The only other nickel 27 I've seen in person was the 4" I bought earlier this year. They just dont' seem to come out of the woodwork they way the blued babies do.
